Rebecca "Becky" Jean Hashbarger

Rebecca "Becky" Jean Hashbarger, age 63, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born on December 1, 1955, in Wichita, Kansas, to John and Billie Jean (Barnett) Hudson. She is preceded in death by her mother. Becky graduated from Hominy High School in 1973. She went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Oral Roberts University graduating in 1977. She married the love of her life, Jim Harshbarger, on April 21, 1979. Becky spent her life helping others and that is why she pursued a degree in nursing where she began in pediatrics and then spent the remainder of her career as a school nurse and a member of the National Association of School Nurses. She belonged to the P.E.O. International which is a philanthropic organization that is "Women helping women reach for the stars." She loved to shop and was always thinking about what her family and those around her might need. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Jim Hashbarger of the home; her two children, Aaron Hashbarger and wife Ashley, and Kristin Wright and husband Cody, both of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Layne Hashbarger, Leila Jean Hashbarger and Dakota Wright; two brothers, Mike Hudson and wife Deanna, and Rick Hudson and wife Laura, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Dianne Shaw and husband David of Skiatook, Oklahoma; two cousins, Joy Awbrey Schlichtl and Johnny Awbrey; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019, in the chapel of Central United Methodist Church at 6 W. Dickson St, Fayetteville, Ark. 72701.
