After her early years as a homemaker, her husband was injured during the construction of Beaver Dam. She took night classes, learned to type and went to work for United Built homes as a secretary. She went on to manage her husband's home building business. At the age of 45 she became a single mother and sole provider for her family. She became a private duty caregiver, working nights at City Hospital in Fayetteville for over 20 years until she retired. Ruby had served as a Girl Scout leader, vacation bible school teacher, library and school volunteer, a member of Toastmasters and the Order of the Eastern Star. Ruby was a woman of unwavering and steadfast faith. She loved her savior Jesus Christ with all her heart, soul, body and mind. She was always active in her local church, most recently Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville. She was generous with numerous ministries, family and neighbors. When her memory had long faded, Ruby began to sing a song called "A Beautiful Life." The song was a testament to Ruby's own life. The first verse says "Each day I'll do a golden deed, by helping those who are in need." If you would like to honor Ruby's life, the family asks that you follow her example and do a golden deed to someone you see in need. Online condolences www.WestfieldChapel.com.
