Dorothy Lynn (Dot Lynn) Hunt Duncan, 92, a lifelong resident of Magnolia, Arkansas died December 1, 2019, in Little Rock. Dot Lynn was born May 29, 1927, in Magnolia to the late Overton and Ruby Phillips Hunt. She obtained an AA degree from Magnolia A&M (now Southern Arkansas University) in 1947 and returned to school part-time while also working full time after the death of her husband in 1970. She earned her BBA degree in 1979. Dot Lynn was a member of First United Methodist Church in Magnolia for more than 60 years. She worked in the County Clerk's office in Columbia County many years before starting work at SAU. After completing her degree, she served as Financial Aid Director at SAU for almost 25 years helping many students with their college financial needs. Dot Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Franklin Duncan (known to all as "Duncan") and her sister Janette Hunt. She is survived by her son Alan Duncan and wife Margie of Little Rock and her daughter Nancy Donat and husband Ron of Jefferson, Ga. She was lovingly known as Mama Dot to her five grandchildren, Matt (Caroline) Duncan, Scott (Melissa) Duncan, and Mandy (Josh) Osborne of Little Rock and Micki (Tim) Borsa and Jeffery (Jenna) Pearson of the Atlanta, Ga, area. She was also loved by her seven great-grandkids, Noah, Brady, Emma, Sam, Evan, Silas and Peyton. Other survivors are her sister Carolyn Sue (Bobby) Williams of Greenbrier, Ark., sister-in-law Eugenia Duncan of Texarkana, Ark., and many other family and friends that will miss her smile. There will be a graveside memorial service for family and friends at Magnolia Memorial Park in Magnolia at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2019. The family will be at the Parlor of First United Methodist Church from 12:30-1:30 prior to the service for visitation.
