Karl Robert Kullander

of Little Rock, AR, 1935 - 2019

Karl Robert Kullander, 84, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 peacefully, on his own terms, surrounded by his children, after a brief battle with colon cancer.
Karl was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University where he met the love of his life Athalia May Knoop. After graduating and getting married, Karl and Thalie moved to Coronado, Calif. where he spent four years as a Naval Officer serving in the Pacific.
Karl and Thalie moved back to Little Rock in 1962 where they raised their four children. Together they founded Kullander Construction in 1978. Upon becoming empty nesters, Karl and Thalie traveled all over the world primarily by Cruise Ship. Karl was an exceptional snow skier, skiing into his 80's.
Karl was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and wife of 49 years. Survivors include sons, Kevin, Mikel (Kim), daughters, Kathy (Mark) Kane, Rebekah (Delbert) Conn all of Little Rock, granddaughters, Kristin, Kara (Steve) Zang, Brenda, Mary Katherine (Antoine) de la Sayette; grandsons, Kyle, Chris (Chelsea) Kane, Addison Kane, Damon, great-grandchildren, Claire, Bennett and Darby and special friend Jo Light.
The Family wishes to thank Dr Kevin Roberts and his Staff as well as the St Vincent's Critical Care Team. There will be a memorial service on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church immediately followed by a reception. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to 2nd Presbyterian Church Building Fund or your favorite charity.
