Janelle Phillips Stephens

Janelle Phillips Stephens, 82, of Springdale, died November 24, 2019. She was born November 26, 1936, in Fayetteville, Ark., to the late Raymond M. and Lena Winn Phillips. Janelle was a 1954 graduate of Fayetteville High School. She was a homemaker, a faithful Christian and long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church and later of Sang Avenue Baptist Church, both in Fayetteville. Janelle was a kind and gentle woman who was devoted to her family and friends. Her loving husband of 62 years, Carl Glen Stephens, preceded her in death by only 45 days. Janelle was also preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Maxine Phillips Grammer of Springdale. She is survived by her brothers, Loren Ray Phillips of Harrison and Loy W. Phillips of Broken Arrow, Okla.; daughter, Monte Stephens Frankenfield of Nashville, Tenn.; son, Neal Stephens and daughter-in-law, Kim Stephens of White Hall; and daughter, Jan Stephens Hill of Springdale. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Rebecca Stephens Lambert (Cody) of Bryant; Rachel Stephens Acosta (Michael) of East End; Noah Stephens (Kimmy) of Conway; Claire Frankenfield of Dallas, Texas; William Frankenfield of Nashville, Tenn.; Emma Hill of Conway; and Grayson Hill of Springdale; and by many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019, 2 p.m., at Sang Avenue Baptist Church, 1425 N. Sang Avenue, Fayetteville. Visitation with the family from 1-2 p.m., will precede the service. Private burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.
