George Harper, 56, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of North Little Rock, Ark. passed on Monday December 2, 2019 in Oak Cliff, Texas. He was born June 2, 1963 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to George II and Claudean Harper. George was a 1981 graduate of Oak Grove High School in North Little Rock. From a very young age, George began his mastery of commercial and general contracting by working with his father who was the first Black commercial contractor in the State of Arkansas. Together they worked on many projects throughout Arkansas and in their community of North Little Rock. George moved to Dallas Texas in the early 80s where he met and married Margarette Harper on June 8, 2009. Everyone who knows George knows that he loved Margarette dearly and kept her close to his heart. His only child and daughter, Leianne Griffin; and two grandchildren Christina and Sariah were the loves of his life. George also left behind two step-children, David Lisk and Anthony Donnay. The eldest male, George was the patriarch of a brother and three sisters: Tyrone Harper, Wonda Brown, Camile White, Necole Harper and Teresa Harper. George will be remembered as the all-time pillar of the community. Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone, George was a jack-of-all-trades and a master of all. From vehicles to A/C units to plumbing. George has left a legacy of service, integrity and community in Dallas, Texas.
