Gordon Daniel Morgan, age 88, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. He was born on October 31, 1931, in Mayflower, Ark., to the late Roosevelt and Georgia (Matlock) Morgan. He is preceded in death by his Brother, Thomas Morgan; and son, Bryce Morgan. Dr. Morgan, known as "Doc", a distinguished member of the University of Arkansas facility dedicated his life to teaching, writing, and guiding students not only through the matriculation process, but life. Dr Morgan will be remembered for his spirited discussions in General Sociology classes, the many books he has authored, and his engaging manner. He will truly be missed by University Colleagues, Students, and members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Izola Morgan; his three children, Marsha Morgan of Fayetteville, Ark., Brian Morgan (Sherri) of Dumfries, Va., and Marian Morgan of Rochester, Minn.; two grandchildren, Ashley Morgan and Phillip Morgan; one great-grandson, Ethan; two sisters, Geraldine Smith and Bobby Dewberry (Lenard); and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, December 27, 2019, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Interment will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
