Rose Marie Willis, 78, of North Little Rock, Ark. went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday morning, January 30, 2019. She was born June 26, 1940 in Monticello, Ark., to the late Thomas Wesley Willis and Mary Bob (Tuggle) Willis of Monticello, Ark. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jane (Willis) Burchfield, of Crossett, Ark. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jackie Burchfield, of Crossett, Ark., one nephew; Barry Burchfield and wife, Dawn, of Sterlington, La. and one niece, Jennifer Burchfield, of North Little Rock, Ark. She is also survived by two great nieces, Jordan Burchfield and Maci Burchfield, and one great-nephew, Baylor Burchfield, all of Sterlington, La. She is also survived by many well-loved cousins. Rose Marie was a 1958 graduate from Drew Central High School in Monticello. She received her college undergraduate degree in Home Economics from the University of Arkansas in Monticello and then later received her master's degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in Home Economics. She was an active member of her church, Calvary Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas, where she served in many leadership roles, including trustee, finance and personnel chair, and Sunday School teacher. Through the years, she was also very involved in many different community organizations. Rose Marie spent her professional career in education, serving as a high school Home Economics teacher for seventeen years in Calico Rock, Ark., and as a Public School Program Advisor with Family and Consumer Sciences for the Arkansas State Department of Education in Little Rock for 28 years. She influenced and mentored thousands of students, both in Arkansas, and nationwide through her involvement and leadership with the Future Homemakers of America. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, former co-workers, and former students. The visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 5025 Lynch Drive, North Little Rock, Ark. 72117 on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in the church sanctuary from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Immediately following the visitation, a celebration of Rose Marie's life will be held at 3 p.m. at the church with Brother Paul McLung, and Brother Robert McDaniel officiating.
