Karen Joy Kragt, 77, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away Jan. 30, 2019. She was born Nov. 10, 1941 to Paul and Carolyn Groeneweg, in Rock Valley, Iowa. She was baptized in 1941, made affirmation of faith in the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley, Iowa. She attended country school for eight years and graduated from high school in 1959. She married her high school sweetheart Dr. Joel Kragt in 1961. They had four sons, Dr. Joel (Joleen), Jeff (Debby), Dr. Steve (Nancy) and attorney Gary (Jennifer). Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Norma, and brother, Joe. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Joel Kragt, her children, 14 grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, sister, Marlene (Tom) Van Holland, brother, Wayne (Judy) Groeneweg, brother-in-law, Richard Mack and sister-in-law, Corlis Groeneweg. Karen was an avid golfer, bridge, player and reader. She was active in church, serving on several committees, tutoring, teaching Bible and Sunday School. She also was a Stephen Minister. Karen was a 50 year member of the PEO Sisterhood. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., with Memorial services following at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 9th at Bella Vista Community Church, Bella Vista, Arkansas.
