Ray Smith

Ray Smith, age 83, of Russellville, died Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born on October 6, 1935, in Newark to Henry Clay and Edna Mae McClure Smith. He was a retired deacon and member at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, a Gideon, and United States Army Veteran. He retired from Sysco after many years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carreta Marney Smith. Survivors include his wife, Melba Fisher of Russellville; two daughters and son-in-law, Carissa and James Harold of Tuttle, Oklahoma and Alana Smith of Guebwiller, France; two step-sons, Poncho and Chris Knight of Russellville; a step-daughter, Connie Warren of Colorado; a sister, Cynthia Bukosky of Benton; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m., until service time in the chapel. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, February 4, 2019, at the Shinn Chapel with Alana Smith officiating and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Burial will be at 4:00 p.m., Monday in Blue Springs Cemetery in Newark.
