Ruth Fisher McDowell

Ruth Fisher McDowell, 94, of Little Rock, slept into Jesus' arms in the wee hours of Saturday, February 2, 2019. She was born the youngest of five siblings in Petersburg, Texas on July 14, 1924 to Edgar and Mary Fisher. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 36 years; Woodyard (Woody) Lee McDowell and four siblings. She was a great mom to her four children who all survive her; Bryan McDowell (Jennifer) of Shreveport, Louisiana, Timothy McDowell (June) of Cedar Park, Texas, Reed McDowell (Beth) of Portland, Oregon and Elizabeth Baker (J.C.) of Little Rock, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Saturday, February 9 at 10 a.m., a Celebration of Life will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport, Ark. at 3:30 p.m. Donations may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1 Covenant Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211 or the charity of your choice.
