DANIEL EARNEST LAMASTER, 91, of North Little Rock, passed away Feb. 6, 2019. He was born in Lawrence, Kan., to Maurice and Ruth Ellen LaMaster. He was predeceased by his parents; the mother of his children, Mary Stark; a brother, Charles LaMaster; a sister, Elsie Keller; and granddaughter, Heather LaMaster. He is survived by his wife, Joan King LaMaster; sons, Peter LaMaster of Rockledge, Fla., Fred LaMaster (JoEllen) of Benton, and Rik LaMaster (Sandy) of Manhattan, Kan.; sisters, Wilma Sue Johns of Dallas, Ore., and Dorothy Beck (Joe) of California; five grandchildren, Stacy Stuehnberg, Matthew LaMaster, Dr. Aaron LaMaster, Kelley LaMaster and Jenna LaMaster; several great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. Dan was a U.S. Navy veteran and pilot. He flew all types of aircraft, nearly everything with wings, and retired from Cessna. He was the oldest licensed pilot in Saline County. Dan was presented The Wright Brothers "Master Pilot" Award on June 21, 2016 by the Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration. An ordained minister, he served as a missionary in Oklahoma and western Kansas. He was a member of the Disciples of Men at Park Hill Christian Church. Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. at Park Hill Christian Church, officiated by Rev. Joe Hodges.
