Lula Faye Miner went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2019. She was born on March 28,1930 and was of the Baptist faith. She was the daughter of Giles Chapman Watkins of St. Paul Arkansas, and Ida Bell Hayes Watkins Ledford, also of St Paul. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mack T. Miner of Fayetteville Ark., and son Conley Craig Miner of Tulsa, Okla. Faye was a self-employed cosmetologist and shop owner in China and Florida. Her clients included numerous celebrities along the way, and this was a job she truly enjoyed. Her passion for traveling and working with many charitable organizations on behalf of US Military families. Being the wife of a career military man, she saw the hardships felt by the family members during service and war time. Her proudest accomplishment was being on the board that established the first of its kind Long-Term Care home for military retirees and widows, which was established in Kissimmee Florida. Bob Hope became the official ambassador for this organization. She was a Red Cross-certified nursing assistant overseas in China after the Korean conflict and continued this service when she and her husband returned stateside. She assisted with the treatment of many wounded soldiers in military hospitals during this time. While in China, she was also quite active as a Den mother for the Cub Scouts, from camping to service projects. Faye would always remark she had a good, long life. Born in the middle of the Great Depression, a military wife during war times and the peace times afterwards, traveling the world, making wonderful friends all around the world, experiencing a variety of cultures and witnessing the achievements of people from various nations. In addition to her parents, husband Mack, and son Conley, she was also preceded in death by brothers Herman and Paul Watkins, and sisters Cleo Clemey Watkins Holt and Tilda Mae Watkins Warford. She is survived by her daughter Marsha Miner Pyeatt and husband Gene L Pyeatt of Trophy Club Texas, brothers Billy Eugene Watkins of Las Cruces, N.M., and Archie Lee Watkins of Fayetteville, Ark., sisters Mary Katherine Watkins Warford of Woodland, Calif., Barbara Ann Watkins Parker and her husband LeRoy Parker of Dardanelle, Ark., one grandson Timothy Mack Bailey of Lewisville, Texas and his wife Karen, two granddaughters Sheryl L. Trailer of Fayetteville Ark., and Christine D. Clouse and husband Shane Clouse of Elkins Ark., 6 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-children, as well as numerous nieces and nephews she adored. Pall bearers are great grandsons Jackie Carter, Seth Carter, Mitchell Trailer, Cody Clouse, and Rory Clouse. The family wishes to thank the Circle of Life Hospice Care Center of Springdale for the dignified and loving care they gave to her at the end of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to your local area food bank.
