Joy Marie Thorne Lopez of Gillett, Arkansas died suddenly February 2, 2019 at her home. She was born April 18, 1953, at US Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, Ill. to the late Joyce LaVerne Gibson and James Lester "Jim" Thorne. She is preceded in death by brothers, Charles Patrick "Chuck" Thorne, and Lester Homer "Butch" Thorne. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Kristine Means Dodson, of Seattle Washington, her dear friends of over 20 years Vera Reed Heath and husband, Rocky Cunningham of Gillett, and new found friends, Amanda and Clay Lemonds of Gillett. Joy's wishes were to be cremated. Arrangements were provided by Essex Funeral Home, DeWitt, Arkansas. A memorial service will be held in the spring with her ashes to be interned in Gillett Cemetery.
