Marguerite Schneck Burgin, 81, died peacefully at home in Little Rock, February 11, 2019. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin September 18, 1937 to Albert O. Schneck and Appolonia Jones Schneck. She spent her childhood there and graduated from University of Wisconsin then received her Masters Degree in Social Work at Columbia University in New York. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Stewart H. Bill Burgin; her two nieces, Judy Wood Mintz of Chicago, IL and Betsy Wood (Tom) of Madison, WI; nephew, James S. Wood, also of Madison; a step-daughter Emily Burgin Roberts, and step-son John Burgin, PhD. of North Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Janis Schneck Wood. Marguerite worked as a Social Worker in the inner city of St. Louis before coming to Little Rock where she served for many years as clinical director at Youth Home, Inc. In 1986 she worked as a social worker at Royal Air Force Upper Heyford Airbase in Oxford, England, UK. Then, returning to Little Rock, she established her own practice as a psychotherapist. Her use of dream therapy and analysis in her practice and after her retirement was well recognized throughout the state and beyond. She led book studies and dream groups for many spiritual seekers over the years. Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, was an important part of her life, having served many years there as an Elder, Sunday School Teacher, and choir member. After cremation, her funeral will be there on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 3 p.m. with a reception following at the church. A private burial will be at a later date at Cato Historic Church and Cemetery, Inc. at 14000 Frenchman Mountain Road, Sherwood, Ark. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations (501 C-13), may be made to the corporation for building and cemetery maintenance and mailed to Roger Harrell, Treasurer, 149 Cato Road, Sherwood, Ark. 72120.
