Frank Etter Griimes Jr.

Frank Etter Grimes Jr., 81, of McGehee, Ark. passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019. Frank was born in Dermott, Ark. on March 28, 1937 to the late Frank E. Grimes, Sr. and Bernice Jones Grimes in Portland, Ark. He retired in 1990 as School Superintendent of Ross Van Ness/Eudora Schools in Eudora, Ark. and was Head Master of Montrose Academy for a short time later. Frank served six years in the Air National Guard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. Frank loved spending time with his family, especially a fun game of Farkle with his grandchildren. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Ray Grimes. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Novyle Pounders Grimes; son, Frank Grimes, III of Monroe, La.; daughter, Tammy Grimes Bragg of Monroe, La.; brother, Billy Grimes (Virginia) of Portland, Ark.; grandchildren, Brandon Craven of Monroe, La., Amber Grimes Huffman (David) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Aimee Grimes of Dallas, Texas; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Grimes of West Monroe, La. and Twyla Pounders Hargis (Phil) of McGehee, Ark.; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at McGehee Church of Christ in McGehee, Ark. with Rev. Bodie Spicer and David Smith officiating. Burial will be at McGehee Cemetery.
