Eva Van Tassell

Eva Van Tassell, age 89, of Springdale, Arkansas passed away early morning on Tuesday February 12th, 2019. Eva was born in Akron, Ohio on January 4, 1930 to Joseph and Elizabeth Vargo. She was married to Donald William Van Tassell Sr. in 1952, through the years they lived in North Carolina, Illinois, Florida, and Alabama prior to settling in Arkansas. Eva had two children, Elizabeth (Libby) McDonald and Donald (Skip) William Van Tassell Jr. Eva was preceded in death, by Don (2009) and Libby (2014). Survivors include Skip Van Tassell, his spouse Marcia, three grandchildren, Chad Van Tassell and spouse Corinna of Springdale, Ark., Ashley Hendrix and spouse Wilson of Allen, Texas, and Summer McDonald of Huntsville, Ala., seven great grandchildren Autumn Green, Tyler Van Tassell, Caylor Howard, Kailey Van Tassell, Ethan Hendrix, Seraphina Hendrix, and Cooper Van Tassell, and one great-great-grandchild Evelyn Green. Eva was a great mother and friend, she had an extremely kind nature and made friends easily. She enjoyed her pen pals (foremost was Pat Mason), reading, crossword puzzles, and Home Improvement TV shows. Her most recent residence was at the Springdale Health and Rehab. In the 3 1/2 years she lived there, she became a favorite, and much loved "Mom/Grandma" to the aides and nurses. She will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
