BETH ANN LENSING died on February 22, 2019, in Dallas, Texas, of complications following surgery for ovarian cancer. Beth was born in Rhineland, Texas, on January 3, 1943, to William Emil Brown and Rosa Mary Verhalen Brown, who named her Mercedes Elizabeth Brown. Based on their conversations with Beth, her children would guess that the happiest days of Beth's life were the day she won a high school-wide spelling bee as a ninth-grader, the day she married Herman Joseph Lensing (October 15, 1966), and the day she legally changed her first and middle names to "Beth Ann." She also picked up the nickname "Moon" among her children and their friends after her daughter Janet started calling her "Moonie" instead of "Mommy." She loved to travel and to visit with her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sons David William Lensing and Dennis Michael Lensing, her brother Anthony, and her sister Margaret. She is survived by her son Gregory Joseph Lensing, her daughter Janet Rose Lensing, her brothers and sisters Dolores, Stan, Patrick, Rose Mary, and Sharon, and many nieces and nephews. The Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, in the chapel at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, Ark., 72114. The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 6150 Remount Road, North Little Rock, Ark., 72118. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Presbyterian Hospice, 12477 Merit Dr., Dallas, Texas 75220, which was an immense comfort to her in her last illness.
