DOLORES KATHLEEN MCCURDY was born in Bound Brook, New Jersey to Ellis Lauren and Madelyn Kathleen Glendening on 9 January 1929. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Claudia Kathleen, her eldest son, Glen Franklin, her sister, Beatrice Rose Raxsdale, and her husband of 65 years, Claude Franklin. She is survived by her son Robert Eugene McCurdy of Florida; grandsons, Collin Bryce McCurdy of Florida, Robert McCurdy II of Virginia, Glen McCurdy of California, granddaughter Anna Marie McDonald of California, six great-grandchildren, her loving sister, Joan Brown of Arkansas and extended family members throughout Arkansas, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Delaware. She graduated from Mount St. Mary Academy in Little Rock in 1947 and married Claude McCurdy on 30 June 1949. Claude entered the Arkansas National Guard in October 1950 and was called to active duty with the Air Force at Langley Field, Virginia. Dolores accompanied him on numerous military assignments to include Louisiana, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, and Yokota Air Base Japan. Dolores was an accomplished seamstress and opened a Drapery and Slipcover business. She became renown for her unique interior decorating abilities throughout the various communities in which she and Claude were assigned. Both Claude and Dolores were avid Square Dancers in the early years and loved to travel to places such as Alaska, Canada, United Kingdom, Montana, and one of their favorites, Las Vegas. Dolores (Dee as she was called by family and friends) will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Arrangements are by Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home located at 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas on Friday, March 1st, 2019, with Reverend Paul Worm presiding. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Funeral Service at 11 a.m. with internment at Little Rock National Cemetery at 12 noon. www.griffinleggetthealeyroth.com.
