Mary Ann Brummett Webber died February 4, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. She was born in Hope, Ark. to the late Ivis Harmon Brummett and Jessie Fern Holcombe. Mary Ann grew up in Little Rock, graduating from Central High School in 1953, from Hendrix College with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts in 1957, from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a Master's Degree in Education in 1966, then satisfactorily completed all course work for her PhD. Mary Ann was predeceased by her brother, Donald Ivis Brummett. She is survived by her son, Richard Alan Webber Jr., of Austin, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Tracy Webber and David Gordon Short, of Dallas, Texas; and her sister, Nancy Brummett Askew of Little Rock. Mary Ann retired from her teaching career with Pulaski County Special School District in 1999. Throughout her life Mary Ann researched family genealogy, collected books and antiques, wrote and published short stories and worked on an unfinished historical novel about Little Rock. She moved to Texas in 2003 to be with her Dallas family after her grandson was born. Mary Ann was loved and admired by many friends, not only for her talent, intellect and generosity of spirit, but for her innate goodness of heart. Mary Ann will be interred at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock at a later date.
