Jacque Davis Walker, beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, age 81, passed away December 29, 2018 at Trinity Village. Jacque was the daughter of Milas Eldon and Vonnie Dee Jones Davis. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Evonna Lee Davis Grizzle and daughter, Kimberly Walker Bellingrath. Jacque graduated from Brinkley High School in 1955 and the University of Arkansas in 1958. She married George Walker on June 1, 1958 in Brinkley, Arkansas. They started their family and married life in Little Rock, moving to Pine Bluff in 1963 to work at Simmons Bank. Jacque and George raised their children and spent the rest of their lives living and serving in the Pine Bluff community. Jacque practiced speech pathology for 32 years beginning at Jenkins Memorial Children's Center in 1967. After earning her master's degree, she opened a private practice at the South Arkansas ENT Clinic. She served and held offices in the Arkansas Speech/Language and Hearing Association, serving on the Arkansas Licensure Board for Speech Pathology. Jacque was an active member of the First United Methodist Church serving in all church activities. She loved studying and teaching the Bible as a Sunday School teacher and a discussion leader of Bible Study Fellowship. She served on numerous civic boards, especially enjoying her work on the Trinity Village Board. Jacque had a contagious laugh and wonderful outlook. She enjoyed being with people, volunteering, reading, playing bridge and working in the yard. She enjoyed yardwork because she said it was the only job she ever had where she knew: "exactly where to go, exactly what to do and when the job was done." She felt working in the yard was one of God's pleasures and provided many lessons in life. Jacque loved her husband and family dearly, often telling others of the great blessings the Lord had given her in her life and family. She is survived by her husband, George Walker of Pine Bluff; daughters, Kelly Laing (Darrell) of Highlands Ranch, Colo. and Kristy Armstrong (Wil) of Cherry Hills Village, Colo.; and grandchildren, Adam Bellingrath, Anne Davis Bellingrath, Elisabeth Armstrong, Kathryn Armstrong, Jack Armstrong and Jacqueline Laing. She is also survived by her only brother, Milas Eldon Davis Jr. M.D. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. A celebration of Jacque's life is scheduled for Friday January 4, 2019 at 10:30 a.m., at First United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff with Reverend Mike Morey officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 2008, Pine Bluff, Ark. 71611 or Trinity Village, 6400 Trinity Drive, Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603.
