Edward Jerome Schichtl, age 75, of Conway passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, surrounded by family. He was born Oct. 12, 1943, in Conway, Ark., to the late George and Anna Mae (Halter) Schichtl. Ed retired from Jacuzzi Brothers after 27 years of service. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fisherman, and he and Shirley enjoyed spending time on Lake Nimrod, camping and fishing with friends and family. He is survived by his son, Shawn Schichtl and wife Lisa; his grandkids, who were the light of his life, Shawn D., Austin, and Madi Schichtl; four brothers, Jim Schichtl of El Paso, Texas, Tom (Carol) Schichtl, Robert (Shelby) Schichtl, and Butch Schichtl, all of Conway; one sister, Della Duclose of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Beth Schichtl and Joy Schichtl, both of Conway. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Shirley Adair Schichtl; his parents, George and Anna Mae (Halter) Schichtl; two brothers, George Schichtl and Willie Schichtl; one sister, Pete Hart; two sisters-in-law, Angel Schichtl and Mary Lou Schichtl; and two brothers-in-law, Al Duclose and Doc Hart. A private family service will be at a later date.
