Artie Earnestine Stamps Phipps Gipson, 81 of Huntsville went home to be with our Lord on January 1, 2019 at 6:20 am, she was born on November 5, 1937 to Ernest Eugene and Bessie Faye (Fritts) Stamps in Hindsville, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Edgar L. Gipson, two grandsons, Michael Phipps and Matthew Maeur, one great-grandson, Dakota Burgess, one great-granddaughter, Brianna Phipps, her parents, Ernest and Bessie Stamps, three brothers, Luther, Elton and Jerry Dean and one sister, Anna Hofarth. She is survived by one son, Garry D. Phipps of Springdale, Arkansas, two daughters and sons-in-law, Phillis C. and Drew Whitlow of Huntsville, Arkansas and Susan E. and Jimmie Butts of Kailua, Hawaii, four brothers, J.L., Alfred, Liga and Henry Stamps all of Springdale, Arkansas, one sister, Sue Carol Dozier of Springdale, Arkansas, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Graveside services will be Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale with Chaplain Chuck Bengston officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
