Mary Cox Tucker

Mary Cox Tucker, 97, of Pine Bluff, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019. She was born December 8, 1921 in Benton to the late Joseph and Annis Moore Cox. She was reared and educated in Scott and Lonoke, graduating from Lonoke High School. She then moved to the Noble Lake community in 1945 and lived there for almost her entire life. She resided at Gardner Nursing Home in Star City for the last 4 ½ years. Mary had worked as a bookkeeper at Magic Mart and also at H.A and A.J Tucker Farms. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Grady for 41 years, and then was a member of the Pine Bluff Church of Christ at Sixth Street. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Herman Tucker, whom she married on December 16, 1945; and siblings, Etta Anderson, Arch Cox, Stella Estell, Nettie Estell, Ada Daniel, Frank Cox, and Jim Cox. Survivors include one son, Arthur Tucker of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren, Teri (Cary) Cossey of Monett, Amy (Jonathan) Simpson of Arkadelphia, Matthew (Christy) Tucker of Star City; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with John Shadowens officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
