Thomas James Hudson, 69, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019. He was born December 14, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Leroy and Kathleen Hudson. Tom spent his life enjoying his family, the great outdoors and serving the public by ensuring they were safe as they went about their everyday lives. Tom's favorite hobby was fishing which he turned into a business. Tom owned and operated Hudson Trolling Motor for 25 years helping bring the joy of fishing to many. Tom spent over 38 years working in the security field, protecting and serving others. Tom met many wonderful people during this time and these friendships which started at the Arkansas Livestock Association on the State fairgrounds continued long past the warm days and entertaining nights spent there. Tom's greatest joy in life was his family. Tom and the love of his life, Deb, spent 36 years together enjoying spending time with their son, Zachary. Tom spent time with family hunting in the country and fishing in the many rivers in the state of Arkansas and beyond. He also mentored many young men playing ball at Rosedale Park. Tom enjoyed spending the most time with Deb and Zach traveling the state and beyond playing ball. He is survived by his wife, Deb Hudson; son, Zach Hudson; sister, Janet (Bill) Haar; aunt, Martha Hudson; brother, Larry (Debbie) Trombley; and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to Children's Homes, Inc., 5515 Walcott Rd, Paragould, Ark. 72450. An informal Celebration of Tom's life will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, Ark.
