Steven Joseph "Joe" Hill, 31, of Fayetteville died Dec. 9, 2018. He was born on March 12, 1987, in Columbia, Md., to Cornell McClellan and Steven Keith Hill. He was known for his wicked sense of humor and fierce loyalty. He was a proud father, avid video gamer, musician, and hiker who loved books and Alabama football, just like his Dad and Grandmother. A graduate of Fayetteville High School and St. Petersburg Community College in Florida, Joe was a 5-year veteran, having served 27 months in Iraq as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, 3rd Infantry Division. At the time of his death, he was employed by Ozarks Electric in Fayetteville and was proud of his job, employer, and fellow workers. Joe is survived by his beloved daughter, Lula Hill of Largo, Fla.; his mother, Cornell of Fayetteville; his father, Keith and stepmother, Jenean of Fayetteville; his sisters, Camille Ferguson and husband Ian of Farmington, Haley Ranke and husband Bruce of Girdwood, Alaska, Natalie Bores and husband John of Calera, Ala., and Christian Cheevers and husband Chet of Ft. Worth, Texas; his brothers, Clark Johnson of Little Rock, Raleigh Hill and wife Jenny of Girdwood, Alaska, and Mark Lanier and wife Angela of Ft. Worth, Texas; his grandmother, Katie Hill of Alabaster, Ala.; as well as many loving aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins in Alabama, Alaska, California, Maryland, Texas, and Virginia. He was so loved and will be missed by many friends and family that have been touched by his kindness, friendship, and love. A graveside service will be 12 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Arrangements with Heritage Funeral Home, online guestbook at www.heritageofnwa.com.
