Virgil A. Franco, 83, of Bartlesville, Okla., passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2018. Virgil was born May 9, 1935, in Elk City, Ark., to parents Guiseppe and Angela (Schiavo) Franco. He married Zelma Webster on June 16, 1972, in Bartlesville, Okla. Virgil worked as a plumbing contractor, owning F&L Plumbing and various building businesses. Virgil was past president and vice president of the Dewey Jaycees, past president of the Dewey Recreation Association, member of the DAV, Eagles, little league baseball coach in Dewey for many years, and was also one of the first ten plumbers to be issued a plumber's license in the state of Oklahoma. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Zelma of the home; son Joe Franco and wife Karen; daughter Angela Still; son Kerric Franco; son Mark Franco and wife Melissa; daughter Lori Burleson; son Bobby Webster and Tammy; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be held Friday from 1 p.m. through Monday until 6 p.m. A rosary will be held Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at 7 p.m. at Stumpff Funeral Home, and funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at 10 a.m., also at Stumpff Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the DAV - Chapter 65 at 300 Angus Ave. in Dewey, Okla. 74029.
