Hazel Marie Shankles

Hazel Marie Shankles, 92 of Gentry, Arkansas, died January 4, 2019 at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab. Born May 13, 1926, in Teague, Texas, she was the daughter of Clifford Thompson and Dora Stroud Thompson. Hazel married Dawson Shankles on November 6, 1944. She worked at Gentry Medical Center and was a member of the Gentry Christian Church. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dawson, brother, Ralph Thompson, sister, Modene Botter, step-son, Charles Shankles and step-mother, Jody Thompson. Survivors include son, Jack Shankles and wife Bonnie of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Wanda Meyer and husband Robert of Gentry, Arkansas; daughter, Shirley Thompson of Ringling, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2019 at First Christian Church, Gentry, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry, Arkansas.
