Minnie Louise Muldrow Johnson, 92, passed away on January 2, 2019. The daughter of the late Calvin Luther and Earnestine Anderson Muldrow, Mrs. Johnson was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on May 25, 1926, where she remained a lifelong resident. In 1952, she married Roger Johnson (deceased), a United States Marine. Together the couple traveled the world and lived a loving, lasting and fulfilling marriage. A lifelong educator, Mrs. Johnson was one of the first African Americans to attend the University of Arkansas, receiving her Master's Degree from the University in 1955. She spent 32 years in the North Little Rock School District and was the first African American principal of the school district's previously segregated Amboy Elementary School. Minnie was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and many other professional organizations. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Calvin Muldrow, sisters, Zerita Harrison, and Mamie Weems, and is also survived by a sister-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. Family hour will be at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 600 North Cedar Street, North Little Rock (72114) on January 11, 2019, between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., officiated by Reverend Tyrone Broomfield. The celebration will begin at 12 noon. Memorials in Mrs. Johnson's honor may be made to Bethel A.M.E. Church. Arrangements: Watson Northcrest of North Little Rock, 501-812-5303. Interment: Rest Hills Memorial Gardens.
