Gary Heinz

Gary Heinz, husband, father and friend left this life on January 6th 2019. Gary was born on April 27th, 1941 to Richard and Mildred Heinz in Dighton, Kansas where his character hallmarks of commitment, grit and determination were formed. Gary surmounted significant obstacles to attend Kansas State University following a full early life in Dighton. After completing his engineering degree at KSU on a football scholarship he served his country in Vietnam before beginning his lifetime career at Phillips Petroleum Company. He lived fully and happily with his family, first in Bartlesville, Okla., then in Bella Vista, Ark. where he shared his love of sports and fun with all and passed on his skills in problem solving and his indomitable spirit to his children and grandchildren. He was a rock that many relied on and he will be missed. He will be forever remembered by his wife of 56 years, Kathy, his children, Patricia (Jeff), David (Louise), Christine and and by his brother and sister, Bryce (Marilyn) and Nelda and by his grandchildren, Natalie, Ryan, Emily, Jacob and Elizabeth. Gary will also be remembered by his very dear nephews, nieces, extended family and dear friends. A Celebration of Gary's life will be held January 12, 2019, 11 a.m. at Highland Christian Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas with Pastor Paul Seal Presiding. Memorial Donations in memory of Gary may be made to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank or Highland Christian Church. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
