Shirley A. Harrison, 61, of North Little Rock, Arkansas was surrounded by her family when she passed away on January 10, 2019 to be with the Lord. After Shirley conquered cancer twice earlier in her life, she lost her third and final battle to cancer. Shirley was compassionate and always put others before herself. Shirley was born September 19, 1957 in Manila, Philippines by Tony and Rose Aguirre. In 1974, Shirley and her family moved to the United States and eventually settled in Birmingham, Ala. While in Birmingham she attended UAB. After some time, Shirley met her soulmate Al Harrison. In September 24, 1983 Al and Shirley got married. She had two children Benn Harrison and Christine Harrison Smith. In 2010, Shirley welcomed her only grandchild Ashlyn Smith who brought her joy and happiness. Ashlyn was the love of her life. When not working at the Arkansas Insurance Department Shirley loved to shop, hang out with her friends, spoil her granddaughter Ashlyn, being with her family, and of course giving treats to her dog Angel. Shirley is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Al Harrison, her son, Benn Harrison (Ashley Tippins), her daughter, Christine Smith (Will Smith), her only granddaughter, Ashlyn Smith, her parents, Tony and Rose Aguirre and Grace Nicolas (Manny Nicolas), Helen Rojas (Bebot Rojas), Paul Aguirre, Vivien Phillips (Frank Phillips), and Amy Sanders (John Sanders) as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and friends. A special thank you for all the physicians, nurses, and staff who gave Shirley the best care possible especially Jacksonville Medical Clinic, MD Anderson, CARTI, and Baptist NLR. In lieu of flowers and gifts please donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in honor of Shirley Harrison http://support.pancan.org/goto/shirleyharrison.
