ERNIE DOYLE TABOR, 82, of Little Rock passed away January 1, 2019. He was born August 15, 1936 to the late Charles and Winnie Tabor of Little Rock. In 1954, Ernie graduated from Little Rock Senior High. He was immediately drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies baseball organization which gave him the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream of playing professional baseball. After his career with the Phillies, Ernie began a long, successful career in sales. He went to work for Arkla Gas in Little Rock and went on to help open the Arkla Gas division in Shreveport, La. In 1968 he became a sales manager for BF Goodrich Chemical. His career in sales continued when he joined Reagent Chemical in Houston, Texas as the National Sales Manager. Ernie is survived by his wife and constant companion of 48 years, Rose Tabor; four children: Sherry (Tom) Elser, Scott (Maria) Tabor, Suzanne Maly Mullens and Tony Tabor; nine grandchildren: William (Claire) Elser, Suzanne (John) Pennington, Frank (Emily) Mullens, Heather (Drew) Watson, Nick (Haleigh) Mullens, and Katheryn, Maly, Dawson and Olivia Tabor; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn (Charles) McDaniel. He was preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Addie Elser. Ernie was a communicate of the Cathedral of Saint Andrew for over 25 years. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, Little Rock. Interment will follow at 12:30 PM in Salem Cemetery, East End.
