James "Jim" Joseph McGreal III, age 59, passed away on December 26, 2018 in Bella Vista, Arkansas, due to complications from a recent illness. Jim was born in Chicago and lived in Rockford and Peoria, Illinois, and Royal Oak, Michigan before moving to Bella Vista, Arkansas. A beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and co-worker, Jim was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife and best friend Helen Dansker; his children Megan (Nate) Papi-Wark and Sean McGreal; parents James Joseph and Kerstin McGreal; siblings Michael McGreal (Laura) and Lisa McGreal-Harrison; stepchildren Jennifer Mrkobrad (Matt), Jeffrey Holman (Allison), their five children; many treasured nieces and nephews; many friends, including John Zhang; and his beloved golden retrievers, Jerry and Gracie. He enjoyed a successful career with positions at Kroger, his own company, Advanced Learning Systems, Walmart, and Reasor's Foods. His many passions included fishing, boating, power walks, blues music, rescuing mid-century furniture, spontaneous road-trips, seeking out vintage flea-market finds, and "chips and dips." Jim had an undeniable ability to brighten any room with his sense of humor, easy smile, and generous spirit. He was a source of support to all who knew him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone with whom he interacted. A celebration of life will be held in the spring, with future announcement of details to come.
