R. Dean Knadler

R. Dean Knadler, husband, father, grandfather, friend, passed away in December, 2018, after a 2 1/2yr struggle with a variety of illnesses. He was 79 years old. A native of California, Dean also spent his teenage years in Arizona and New Mexico, where he graduated from Gallup High School. He was the admired big brother to 3 younger brothers, David, George, and Charles. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Bill and Ione and his youngest brother, Charles. Dean married in 1960 and became the father of two wonderful daughters, Tammy and Jackie. After that marriage dissolved, Dean married the love of his life, Jean, and became the father of a third daughter, Suzi. In 1969, Dean became a Deputy Sheriff with San Bernardino County, Calif. He had a great career rising through the ranks and was the first Chief of Police for the 29 Palms Substation in the high desert of San Bernardino County. He subsequently retired as Captain of the Specialized Detective Division, including Homicide, Crimes Against Children, Arson/Bomb, SWAT, and Forgery/Fraud. He retired to Bella Vista in 1998, where he spent his golden years enjoying life, making many new friends, and playing abundant golf. He was an active member of Highlands Methodist Church, the Bentonville Rotary Club, and was a 20 year member of the Bella Vista Men's Chorus. He will be greatly missed by Jean, his wife of 40 years, his daughters, Tammy Heiman of San Bernardino, Calif., Jackie Holloway, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Suzanne Roberts, of Plano, Texas; a grandson, Jeramie Holloway, and a granddaughter, Maia Roberts. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19th, at 11:00 a.m. at Highlands Methodist Church, 371 Glasgow, Bella Vista, Ark. In lieu of flowers donations in Dean's memory may be made to the HUMC Music program, Bella Vista Men's Chorus, or Circle of Life. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
