Wayne Watson Harris

WAYNE HARRIS, 93, North Little Rock, died peacefully at home Jan. 11, 2019. A NLR forefather, banker, "Pops," and WWII veteran, Wayne is survived by his wife Cathy Muscalino Harris; daughter Deborah Nicholas; son Donovan Harris (Susan); grandchildren Holly, Will, Elizabeth; special friend of the family Jann Pharo; and a multitude of friends he affectionately nicknamed. Wayne served in the U.S. Navy aboard a ship that landed at Iwo Jima. His personal belongings are at the Wayne Harris Exhibit at the Road to Tokyo Museum, located at the World War II Veterans Museum in New Orleans. Wayne was a founding member of First American National Bank in North Little Rock, where he served as Vice President and member of the Board of Directors. He served the community in a number of other leadership positions. He was owner of American Storage, Sherwood. A memorial service will be Tuesday, Jan. 15, 3 p.m. at Smith-NLR Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., NLR, followed by a celebration of life at the Wyndham Hotel, 4:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116, or St. Jude's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
