Martha Ann Gilmore

Martha Ann Gilmore (nee Morris) passed away peacefully on January 14, 2019 at her home at Victorian Gardens in Eureka, Missouri. Ann was born May 13, 1936 in Brownsville, Tennessee to the late Lonnie and Willie Sophie (nee Pique) Morris Sr. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Morris Sr., and Willie Sophie Morris (nee Pigue). Ann was passionate about helping others until the end. She spent many years giving of her time and talent to manage the pharmacy volunteers at Little Rock Air Force Base. Ann loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. She brought love and laughter to everyone. Ann loved her church and church family. She spent many years as a Sunday School teacher. Her faith kept her strong until Alzheimer's took over. Even through this, she was happy and compassionate. Her family has donated her brain to further Alzheimer's Research in search of a cure. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Gilmore. They were united in marriage on June 17, 1955. She is survived by two children, Pam (Buddy) Martin of Eureka, Missouri and Steve Gilmore of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Brooke (Matthew) Schaedler of Washington, Missouri, Lauren Martin of St Louis, Missouri, Jennifer (Sam) Harkenreader of Jacksonville and Alicia Gilmore of St Louis, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Schaedler, Brandon, Kayleigh and Amy Harkenreader; three siblings, Betty (Charles) Allen of Jacksonville, Judy Fussell of Collierville, Tennessee and Lonnie (Kathy) Morris Jr. of Humboldt, Tennessee and many other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2019 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 10415 Mount Pleasant Cutoff, Cabot, Arkansas 72023. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
