Roy Wesley Melton

DR. ROY WESLEY MELTON, 89, of Little Rock, passed away January 19, 2019, with his family at his side. Born in Little Rock to Roy and Ophie Searcy Melton, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, practiced dentistry for 35 years, and was a member of the Little Rock Dental Association. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Little Rock where he was a Deacon and taught Sunday School. He also taught Bible study classes at Serenity House for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Earline Melton; son, John Christopher Melton and wife, Sheryl, of Houston, Texas; daughter, Kelly Forehand and husband, Michael, of Conway; and grandchildren, Joseph Michael Forehand, Jacob Roy Forehand, John Steven Forehand, Audrey Nell Roberson, Hudson Taylor Roberson (Melissa), John Christopher Melton II and Samuel Downing Melton; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Joe B. Melton, and a daughter, Stacee Melton Roberson. Services will be Wednesday, January 23 at 12:00 noon at First Baptist Church, after which the family will receive and greet friends. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park prior to the service.
