Carl Dale Hughes

Carl Dale Hughes, 74, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away January 22, 2019. He was born May 4, 1944, in Newark, Arkansas, to James and Eva Mae (Warren) Hughes. Carl was an educator for over 40 years and served as Superintendent of Cutter Morning Star for 16 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jimmy Hughes. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Gayle Hughes; sons, Mark Hughes (Tanya), Lee Simmons (Lindsey); daughters, Dana Curry (Keith), Melinda Simmons (Warren Helmer); sisters, Judy Wright (Richard), Jamie Free (Mike); grandchildren, Matt Hughes, Luke Hughes, Blake Curry, Seth Curry, Greta Helmer, Nathaniel Helmer, Penelope Simmons, Ofelia Forrester, Seamus Forrester, and Saoirse Forrester. A celebration of Carl's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Nick Andrews officiating with special memories by George Foshee.
