Margaret Lucille Gillum

Margaret Lucille "Petie" Gillum, 88, of Springdale, Ark., died Jan. 21, 2019, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born Feb. 13, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Louis and Helen Petersen. Petie married Jackie "Jack" Gillum in 1948 and established a home in Fullerton, Calif., where she resided until 2016. Petie love to read, sew and tend to her flower beds. She was a sports fan and enjoyed watching football, tennis and baseball. Throughout her life, she worked for Sears and the telephone company and also volunteered at the Fullerton Police Department. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Linda Rutherford; grandson, Justin Rutherford; and brother, Richard Petersen. Survivors include sons, William Gillum and wife Jami of Springdale and Alan Gillum and wife Wendy of San Clemente, Calif.; daughter, Judy Barksdale and husband Bob of Palmdale, Calif.; son-in-law, Kenny Rutherford of Gentry; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale. Final resting place will be at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton, Calif., at a later date.
