RICHARD S. DENSON, age 92, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away at his home on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019. He was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on March 2, 1926, to his late parents, Howard S. and Dorothy A. Denson. Richard was a high school graduate of Howe High School in Indianapolis and was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in WWII. After his honorable discharge, Richard voluntarily joined the U.S. Naval Reserve. Richard's career started with Bryant Division of Carrier Corp., which later changed names to United Technologies Corporation, where he retired after 32 years of service. In addition, he was both a Master Mason and Scottish Rite 32 Degree, reaching gold levels in both, and was a member of Second Presbyterian Church of Little Rock. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cheryl Denson; two daughters, Cynthia A. Farkas and Diana S. Dunn; nine grandchildren, Allison, David, Joe, Eri, Jon, David, Michael, Dan and Katie; and 10 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Grant, Luke, Willow, Madison, Daniel, Nicole, Nash, Elliot and Olivia Lucile. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Dana Lucile Whitehead, and one sister, Patricia Ann. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, in the chapel of Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Ark. 72227 with Revered Steve Hancock officiating. A reception will follow. Burial will be in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Ind., at a later date. Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church or to a charity of your choice.
