Melvin E. "Blue" Thompson, 85yrs, slipped peaceable away Friday January 18, 2019 at the Alcoa Pines Nursing and Rehab Center in Benton, Ark. He was born in Noble Lake, Ark., and raised around the Pine Bluff area before moving to Flint, Mich. He worked for General Motors Chevrolet as a Forklift driver for 44 years, before moving back to Arkansas. He is survived by: Wife: Jessie , Three sons; Thomas Townsend (Texas), Gary Fonville, Sr. (Mo.), Roger (Jacklyn) Edwards (Mich.), Four Daughters; Patricia Townsend-Joyner ( Bryant), Jacqueline Townsend ( Texas), Sheila and Malinda Cheatom (Mich.), Two Brothers; Eddie Townsend (Bertha) ( Mo.), Archie (Kaite) Townsend (Calif.), Two Sisters; Bertha Townsend (Calif.), Earseline (Billie) White (Mo.); One Aunt Magnolia McGaskey (Texas): A Special Nephew Anthony Townsend, 25 grand children, 15 great-grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Service Saturday February 2, 2019 at 11:00am New Hope Baptist Church, 1851 Howard St, Little Rock, Ark. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home, 1518 Battery St., Little Rock, Ark. 501 376-4800.
