Katina Fay Sims, 45, of Little Rock, was born February 4, 1973 in Fairbanks, Alaska to Emmett Sims Jr. and Lonnie Jean Kirkwood Sims. She transitioned to her Heavenly Home on Monday, January 21, 2019. Tina was preceded in death by her father – Emmett Sims Jr., son – Mitchell KaShaun Sims-Strickland, one brother - Kevin DeWayne Sims. She leaves to cherish her memories – mother – Mrs. Lonnie Kirkwood Sims, three sisters: Tamara, Starkeisha and Barbara Sims, all of Little Rock, Ark; one nephew: Khi DeShawn Sims of Little Rock, Ark; two nieces: Lakedria Sims and Khaleah Perry, both of Little Rock, Ark. She was a 1991 graduate of Hall High School. She attended Southern Technical College to become a lab tech. She later began work at American Red Cross, UAMS and Children's Hospital as a lab tech. She received a certificate in C.N.A. at Baptist Hospital. She worked in various position in the areas of, C.N.A Nursing, Little Rock School District, Red Cross, VA Hospital and most recent the Arkansas Department of Health in Vital Records for 10 years. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019, 11 a.m. at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, 600 E. 24th Street, Little Rock, Ark. – Rev. Cleo R. Nellum, Pastor.
