Wilma Dean Johnson, 86, of Bryant, Ark., passed away June 30, 2019. She was born August 5, 1933, in Beebe, Ark., to Charles and Velma "Holder" Gatrell. Although Wilma is now absent from the body, she is "present with the Lord". Wilma was a beautiful, amazing, unique person, mother, sister, wife, and daughter. She was Valedictorian and graduate of Central High. Although Mom was intelligent enough to have any career in life, she chose to marry the "LOVE of her life", Howard E. Johnson in 1951. She supported my Dad, in his career as a "Chief Engineer" at Colonial Bakery for 40 years and lovingly raised two children; Tami and Jaci. She was a very special child of God who taught the Word of God, absorbed history like a sponge, was an excellent seamstress, outstanding cook, and could grow flowers like nobody's business. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard E. Johnson; and sister, Madeline and brother, Mariam Gatrell. She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Daniel (Jerry) of Roland, Ark., and Tami Johnson of Little Rock, Ark.; and one brother, Charles Gatrell Jr. of Ark. The family would like to thank Tami (sister) and Jerry (husband), neighbors; (Patsy, Dan, Glenn, Brenda, and Keith), Arkansas Hospice Staff; (Julie, Brenda, Glenda, Sarah, Shone, Pat, Haley, Carly, Debbie, Cheryl, Lori, Kendal, Laura, Dr. Smith, Dr. Devan, and Lucy) for making it possible to provide the care Mom needed. A private family service will be held in her name at a later date. To sign the online guestbook go to www.pinecrestmemorialpark.com
