Mary LaNell Young

After a long battle with complications resulting from Parkinson's Disease, Mary LaNell Young, 77 of Searcy, passed away on July 2, 2019. She died peacefully at home with her devoted husband of 54 years, Robert G. Young, at her side. Mary was born March 31, 1942, in Hot Springs, Ark., to the late B.J. and LaVerne Etzkorn. Mary selflessly dedicated the majority of her life to making a very loving and comfortable home for her family, and she took great pride in that role. She was an avid gardener and cook, and she is remembered as the most attentive wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver. She is survived by her sons Robert G. Young, Jr. (Nancy), and Mark Gregory Young (Kim) of Searcy, and one daughter Mary Marguerite "Mimi" Windemuller (Mike), of Morrison, Colo.; grandchildren Blakely Summers Young, Brayton Hunter Young, Madison Lane Young, Marlee Elizabeth Young and Molly Marie Windemuller; and one sister, Martha Elaine Headlee of Little Rock. She is preceded in death by her brother, John Daniel Etzkorn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinson.org. The family will have a visitation on Wednesday, July 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. A private memorial service will be held for the family.
