Jimmy C. Wright, Sr.

Jimmy C. Wright, Sr., age 64, of Glenwood, died Saturday, June 29, 2019.
Jimmy was born September 19, 1954, in Glenwood, the son of Myrkle Ernie Wright and Gladys Juanita Black Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Elice Lopez and Etna West. On December 31, 2004, he married Carole Ann Clark. Together they served their Lord through their work with Clark County Christian Academy and through their church, most recently New Life Church in Arkadelphia.
He was a 1972 graduate of Glenwood High School. After graduation, he purchased his first business. Later, he became a contract driver with Fikes Truck Line. He had determination and an inherent gift for business that would lead him to start his own company, Jimmy Wright Trucking, in the mid-1990s. In 2014, he partnered with Alan Moore to create Moorewright Truckline.
Jimmy adored his family, was a man of integrity and had a pristine work ethic. He was also humble, compassionate and forgiving, ministering to countless people, often anonymously. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Wright of Glenwood; five children, Monica (Blake) Stato of Austin, Texas, Chris Cook, Gracie Wright, Jimmy Wright, Jr. and Jonathan Wright, all of Glenwood; one grandchild, Avery Staton; his siblings, Clarice (Ray) Connell, Robert (Brenda) Wright, Ernie (Linda) Wright, all of Glenwood, and Linda (Bobby) Driggers of Royal; his brother-in-law, Jimmie West of Glenwood; and many extended family members.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, at Grace Baptist Church, Glenwood, with Bro. Martin Jones, Bro. Chris Cook and Bro. Bruce Tidwell officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 1 p.m.-2 p.m., at the church. Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Chris Cook, Blake Staton, Robert Wright, Ernie Wright, Alan Moore, Bruce Tidwell and Loail Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Wright, Jr. and Jonathan Wright.
