Lorene Thelma Boling, 98, of Bentonville, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019. She was born April 25, 1921, in Barada, Neb., to the late Charles Dickens "Dick" Mason and Wanda Josephine Wilemon Mason. She was also preceded by her loving husband of 67 years, Truman Boling, and a son, Mike Boling. She was long-time resident of Benton County having moved with her family from Nebraska as a child. Lorene was a very active member of the community; serving on the Community Fund board, a past president of the Bentonville PTA, a member of Qui Vive Club and the VFW auxiliary. She was also a long-time member and Elder of First Christian Church in Bentonville and served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and Christian Women's Fellowship as State President. Yet, she lovingly cared for her family and enjoyed a career with the USDA-Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service, from which she retired. She loved growing beautiful flower gardens around their home; drawing and painting outstanding works of art, cake decorating and teaching cake decorating classes through the Bentonville Education and Enrichment program. Many weddings, anniversaries and community observances we enhanced by the exquisite cakes she supplied. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Grimsley of Bentonville; son, Steve Boling (Patricia) of Texas; her grandchildren, Bruce Boling of New York, Mark Boling (Anna) of Texas, Greg Boling (Sheri) of Texas, Marcia South (Scott) of Rogers, Lisa Henderson (Terry) of Siloam Springs, Tiffany Boling (Charlie Perez) of Rogers, Paul Grimsley (Heather) and Jill Grimsley, both of Bentonville; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Dennis Mason of Rogers; numerous extended family members, her church family and dear friends.
