Margaret Cate Hughes

Margaret Cate Hughes, age 92, of Benton, passed away Monday July 8, 2019. She was born January 13, 1927 in Benton. Margaret retired from the First National Bank in Pine Bluff as an Administration Assistant. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Benton. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil L. Cate and Lola L. Kinney Cate, husbands, Edward Bruce Simmons and George E. Hughes, step-daughter, Betsy Borchert, and sister, Martha Lee Williams. Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas (Lynne) Simmons, Katy, Texas; Gregory (Carolyn) Simmons, Benton; step-daughter, Georgia (Bret) Saxon, Alabama; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, July 18th at Ashby Funeral Home with Memorial services starting at 11 a.m. Minister will be Rev. James W. McClintock.
