Frances Verlene (Granny) Sharp, 89, of Romance ended her adventures on Earth, Tuesday, July 16, 2019 under a full moon. She was born May 19, 1930 in Judsonia, Arkansas to the late Alvie and Cordia Cathey Sanford. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Sanford of Ozark; two sons, William Sharp of Mayflower and Sammy Joe Sharp (Susan) of Romance; grandchildren, Stephanie Horn, Ryland Sharp and Rachel Pate. She leaves behind eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. During her 89 years, Mrs. Sharp lived fully. She traveled the world as WAF and continued as an Air Force wife. Arkansas was always home so following Air Force retirement, the family settled in North Little Rock. When her husband Sam died, Mrs. Sharp returned to the Charleston, Arkansas area where her family was located. She enjoyed travel, casino trips, crocheting and watching the Razorbacks play football. In her 70's she moved one last time to live with her son's family. She found joy in interacting with her grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren, watching them play and grow up. Her favorite part of the day was her late-night visits from her youngest great-granddaughter. Lilly would find a way to sneak into Granny's room and feast on brownies or cookies while convincing Granny that cartoons were better than westerns. Lilly usually got her way. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Springhill floor #3B, Baptist Health Hospice and especially Dr. Morgan Sauer for making her last days peaceful. A special thanks to her caregiver, Rosanne Henson. Rosie, you are a part of the family and we can never repay you for how you have taken care of Granny. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Online guest register at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
