Kathleen C. Cosgrove was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on April 26th, 1946. Kathy survived breast cancer five years ago, but was not able to survive her battle with ovarian cancer. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 22, 2019. Kathy once said that her life's work was to be a mother, and she was a great one! She mothered all kids around her as well as her own children. She served Boy Scout Troop 333 as a "Patrol Dad," supported Little League Baseball and Kiwanis Kid's Day Football, participated in La Leche League, led Vacation Bible School, served as a church youth group leader, was a Girl Scout Troop leader, was a home-room mother, and was a band booster. She encouraged people to think about the bigger picture, motives, and doing what is right. She taught others to think for themselves, and not just to go with the crowd. Kathy started Springdale Tax & Business Service and developed it into a thriving tax business as well as her own ministry. She listened to people, prayed for them, and occasionally would pass wisdom to them if appropriate. She wanted everyone to leave feeling better than when they had arrived. Recently, Kathy has been active in two churches, "The Ridge Chapel" in Flint Ridge, Oklahoma (Little Kansas) and "First Christian Church" in Rogers, Arkansas for the last many years. She loved children and loved serving her churches. She always participated in youth activities at church and was responsible for organizing various church sponsored community outreach events. She was loved by all who knew her. She considered the needs of others ahead of her own. Even as her body grew weaker, her spirit grew stronger. She was an inspiration to all of her friends and family and made all of their lives better. Kathy's two favorite lines of scripture were: "Jesus went about doing good" Acts 10:38 and "Be ye kind, one to another" Ephesians 4:32. She was a good example of both of these. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Fred Kopacka, and her mother, Lyla Logsdon Kopacka. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Mike Cosgrove, son, Tony Cosgrove, and daughter, Laura Cosgrove and husband Peter Wyatt, sister-in-law, Myra Cosgrove Smith of Oklahoma City, sister, Trina Kopacka of Oklahoma City, brother, John Kopacka of the Chicago, Ill. area, nephews, Kevin Smith and wife Marcie of Oklahoma City, and David Smith and Michelle Nevis of Seattle, Washington. Kathy's life was very much blessed by all of her friends and family. She especially acknowledges the close and loving relationship she had with Robin Kidd and family, Debbie Baker and family and Barbara Griffith and family. She will be greatly missed by all, and all will have heavy hearts. All will be joyous knowing she now is with her Lord. Kathy made the world a better place. A memorial visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Memorial services will be Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Ridge Chapel in Kansas, Oklahoma with Hank Killgore, Ronny Nowell and Melvin Newland officiating. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Arkansas 72762. Online condolences may be left at www.siscofuneral.com.
