William Minnis Lowry, Jr.

William Minnis "Bill" Lowry Jr. died on Friday, July 19, 2019 in Fayetteville, surrounded by his family. Born in Memphis, Tenn. to William Minnis Lowry Sr. and Mary Arthur Childress, he moved to Greenville, Miss. at the age of three months and was a graduate of Greenville High School and Mississippi State University. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Childress Lowry; and his nephew, Scott Ragsdale. He is survived by his wife, Margaret McGinnis Lowry; daughter, Meg Lowry Mitchell (Jay); son, the Rev. William M. Lowry, III (Ivee); and five grandchildren, Andrew, Rebecca, Amy, Norah and Clelie; nephew, Tom Ragsdale; niece, Lowry Benz; and two great nieces and two great-nephews. A memorial Eucharist will be celebrated on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. A burial and interment service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Greenville, Miss. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 2 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers.
